Welcome to GroSpace, your trusted partner in sustainable agriculture, gardening, and local farming. We are more than just a supplier of agricultural products—we are a community-driven platform dedicated to empowering small-scale farmers, gardeners, and entrepreneurs to thrive in an increasingly competitive and environmentally conscious world.

Our Mission
At GroSpace, our mission is to support the growth of small to medium-scale farmers and gardeners by providing them with high-quality products, innovative solutions, and the tools they need to succeed. We believe in fostering sustainable agricultural practices that not only benefit the environment but also create strong, self-sufficient communities. We aim to bridge the gap between traditional farming and modern business practices, ensuring that our partners can grow both their crops and their enterprises.

What We Offer
GroSpace operates through a decentralized network of small-scale franchises, strategically located to serve local communities across South Africa. Here’s what we bring to the table:
- Quality Products: Our product range includes chicken feed, table eggs, chickens that lay eggs, natural compost, and natural liquid fertilisers. We ensure that all our products meet the highest standards of quality, sustainability, and effectiveness.
- Weekly Egg and Feed Cycle: We’ve established a continuous cycle that supports local backyard chicken farmers. Each week, farmers purchase chickens and feed from their nearest GroSpace franchisee. In return, they deliver the eggs produced by their hens and collect a new supply of feed, ensuring a seamless flow of goods and services that benefits everyone involved.
- Sustainable Gardening Solutions: We provide natural compost and liquid fertilisers that promote soil health, plant growth, and environmental sustainability. Our products are ideal for traditional gardening, hydroponics, and lawn care, helping you achieve lush, vibrant results while caring for the planet.
- Marketing and Sales Support: GroSpace also partners with farmers who grow and produce grain, seeds, fruit, and vegetables. We take the responsibility of marketing and selling these products, allowing our farmer partners to focus on what they do best—farming. By managing the sales and marketing aspects, GroSpace ensures that high-quality produce reaches a wider market, maximizing profitability for our farmers.

Ensuring Quality and Strong Supply Chains
Quality control is at the heart of everything we do at GroSpace. Before any farmer is allowed to sell their products on our platform, they undergo a thorough audit process. This audit ensures that all farmers meet our stringent quality standards, which are crucial for maintaining strong, reliable supply chains. By implementing these quality controls, we guarantee that our customers receive only the best products, whether they are purchasing grains, seeds, fruit, vegetables, or any of our other offerings.

Our Support for Farmers
GroSpace is deeply committed to the success of our partner farmers. We understand the challenges that small to medium-scale farmers face, and we offer comprehensive support to help them overcome these hurdles:
- Business Growth Opportunities: We invest in farmers who can adhere to controlled and audited standard operating procedures. Through off-take contracts (contract farming), we guarantee a market for their products, allowing them to focus on what they do best—farming.
- Funding and Equity Investment: GroSpace offers incubation funding to cover marketing and content creation costs, helping farmers maximize their market penetration on our platform. In exchange for these services, GroSpace takes a 20% equity position in the businesses we support. This partnership model allows us to grow alongside our farmers, sharing in their successes.
- Consulting and Incubation: We view our partner farmers as fertile eggs that, with the correct incubation strategy and nurturing, can hatch into successful businesses. GroSpace provides brilliant and professional consulting services, helping farmers adapt to new business models and navigate the complexities of the agricultural market.

Our Commitment to Sustainability
Sustainability is at the core of everything we do. We are dedicated to promoting eco-friendly practices in agriculture and gardening, from the products we sell to the way we operate our business. By choosing GroSpace, you’re not only investing in the health of your plants and animals but also contributing to a healthier planet.
- Eco-Friendly Products: Our natural compost and liquid fertilisers are made from organic materials, free from harmful chemicals. They support sustainable gardening and farming practices that improve soil health, reduce environmental impact, and produce better yields.
- Community Engagement: GroSpace franchises serve as local hubs where farmers and gardeners can access the resources they need, exchange knowledge, and build strong, supportive communities. We believe in the power of collaboration and shared success, and we’re committed to helping our partners grow in every sense of the word.

An Ecosystem Powered by Entrepreneurs and Funded by Investors
GroSpace is not just a platform; it’s a thriving ecosystem powered by entrepreneurs and supported by investors who believe in our vision. We provide the infrastructure and support needed for local entrepreneurs to establish and grow their own GroSpace franchises. These franchises, in turn, serve their communities by offering essential agricultural products and services.
Our investors play a crucial role in this ecosystem, providing the necessary capital to fund the growth and expansion of GroSpace, ensuring that we can continue to support more farmers, gardeners, and franchisees across the region.

We are interested in the bottom line. The bottom line is that we need to farm sustainably and profitably.
What Should Farmers Do with Local Wildlife?
1. Maintain Balance:
- Farmers should work with nature to create a balanced ecosystem. This means integrating practices that help local wildlife thrive alongside their farming activities.
2. Support Local Wildlife:
- GroSpace encourages farmers to help maintain local wildlife populations. This can be achieved by creating food forests or other natural habitats that provide nourishment for local fauna.
3. Reduce Conflict:
By supporting and nourishing local wildlife, farmers can reduce the likelihood of wildlife attacking their livestock and crops. A well-fed and supported wildlife population is less likely to interfere with farming operations.
4. Promote Sustainability:
- Ensuring that the ecosystem is balanced and that wildlife needs are met helps to create a sustainable farming environment. This approach aligns with GroSpace’s belief in the importance of harmony between farming and nature.
Summary:
Farmers should help maintain local wildlife populations by creating food forests and supporting their nourishment. This balanced approach reduces conflicts between wildlife and farming, promoting a sustainable ecosystem.

Meet the creator
Our comprehensive platform owes much of its features to our users but this platform would not be possible without our Founder.
Roland has learned web development from scratch using the process of first principles to meticulously build this platform from the ground up. He has learned how to market your products, design artwork to make your products burst out of the page and into your customers’ laps and he is now looking to attract diligent and like minded people that are excited to live a life worth living.
Roland studied 2 years of Aeronautical Engineering a the University of Witwatersrand, during this time he built Brainwave Tutoring which catapulted his finances far further than engineering would ever get him so he dropped out in the middle of his third year to focus on building his business which is now called ThinkBrainwave. He completed an undergraduate Bachelors degree in Financial Sciences in record time so that he could understand how to work with money. During this time he grew ThinkBrainwave into the leading tutoring company in South Africa.
The department of Trade and Industry funded ThinkBrainwave to expose the business to the world at the world’s largest education expo in London,UK during the outbreak of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Roland returned to South Africa and promptly started GroSpace.
Why?
People need food…
Roland spent the next 5 years developing sustainable farming techniques using the skills learned during his engineering studies and he quickly developed the GroTower which is an incredibly valuable farming tool. The design constraints were simple:
It has to be affordable to the masses, it has to be efficient and it has to have longevity.
The GroTower checks all of those boxes.
Now that the GroTower is available to contract farmers, Roland will continue to develop and build future proof businesses that are beneficial to humanity and sustainable for the environment.
Roland believes in business for profit. Profit is both monetary and sustainable to the environment. Roland is an avid naturalist and he also enjoys calculating breakeven calculations for small scale to large scale businesses. Roland believes that the challenge is enthralling because challenges make your day interesting. Without challenges, life would be a bore.
Why Farming?
Farming is full of challenges – In my country we say: “‘n Boer maak ‘n plan” which directly translates to “A farmer makes a plan”. These are words to live by and can be reworded to say: A farmer is like an engineer and engineers solve problems.
As a small scale farmer, I have overcome a multitude of problems on my small farm where I have trialed various farming methods on many different crops. I have had baboons in my chicken coops, moles eating my potatoes, kudus grazing on my amaranth and cucurbit flies destroying my butternuts. Farming is really challenging and I wish I had a mentor to partner with. I would happily give more than half of my business to save the losses that I incurred. It was terrible, I was trying to do everything without any help and I lost tens of thousands of Rand during this learning curve. If I had been able to partner with an organisation like GroSpace I would have made profits instead of losses. Thats why I built GroSpace, so that we can help you succeed. – Roland A. Claven
